The role of the Fund-Raising Committee is to explore, pursue, encourage, and support events and programs that encourage good social interaction, while raising funds for the upkeep, mission, and ministry of the Church.

The Committee will be involved in the planning and coordinating of the Church’s Fund-Raising Calendar, and work with the various committees and chairpersons who are responsible for the different fund-raising events.

This committee’s role also includes developing new fund-raising ideas, and finding persons, where necessary, to lead them.

The Committee shall:

  1. Be responsible for the fund-raising events in the Church, which include among other things: The International Day/Talent Fund, Annual Street Festival, Annual Ball/Gala, New Year’s Eve Dance.
  2. Advertise the purpose, date, time and location of each event at least three months in advance.
  3. Create sub-committees, where necessary, and depending on the type of event, to execute the proper promoting and planning of said event.
  4. Be aware of deadlines and pre-requisites with respect to permits and payments, and set ‘cut-off’ dates as this relates to all events.
  5. Ensure that all decisions are communicated to the Vestry before being carried out.
  6. Work with other organizations to ensure that the price of an event is set at a level that reflects the full and proper cost of the event, even in the use of the Church’s facilities, and to make every effort at curbing over spending.
  7. Review all fund-raising activities within the Church, and if necessary, make recommendations on improving same.
