"As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10)

Stewardship embraces the concept that Christians should be grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God.

The purpose of the Stewardship Committee is to encourage, through the power of the Holy Spirit, individual spiritual growth in relationship to God by the Christian use of time, talent, and treasure.

The Committee shall be responsible for the education and implementation of a stewardship program, which encourages members to be generous in giving to the needs of others and building relationships from a perspective of abundance instead of scarcity.

The Stewardship Committee shall:

  1. Continue to monitor the Pledge of the gift of time and talent to all Church Ministries and Organizations with the intent of getting every member involved in the work and ministry of the Church.
  2. Conduct an on-going Pledge of Treasure Campaign for the purpose of generating the primary income of the Church. Members are urged to base their pledge on a percentage of their income, known as proportional giving, and recognize tithing (10%) as the minimum standard of giving.
  3. Be responsible for keeping an accurate account of all funds and make available a bi-annual statement to all members.
  4. Examine and identify creative ways of embracing the Sunday Eucharist by all members.
  5. Be responsible for the organizing and structuring of the Month of Stewardship in November of each year.
  6. Submit a quarterly report to the Vestry on the overall status of Pledges, showing total amount received against what was pledged.
  7. Submit to the Finance Committee an annual estimate of expenses to be included in the Annual Ministry Plan (Budget). These expenses include, but are not limited to, offering envelopes, pledge cards, stewardship literature, etcetera.
  8. Seek to create new and exciting ways in which we can increase the membership of the Church and the regular attendance of all members.
